Change it up!

Time to change up the training schedule... because eating dinner at 10pm every night sucks!!! Not having a single night free during the week is not good for my soul... and sanity!

So instead... I'm going to go to bed at 10 and wake up at 5:30 to train. Let's see how well this works.

Day 1 of new schedule was awesome... NOT! Barely slept the night before due to my inspiration to take a nap on Sunday... so ended up finally sleeping around 2:30am for a solid three hours of zzz's! I know, I know... once upon a time 3 hours was all I needed. But now I'm old and geriatric! I need at least 5 hours!!! Dragged my sleepy bum to the Mansfield for Crossfit. And got my ass kicked. Hard. I was essentially useless for the rest of the day. Not a good way to start off a week. I was so tired. At around 8pm last night, I asked myself if it was too early to go to bed. Lasted until 10pm and then crashed until 5:30 am.

Day 2 of new schedule was a complete failure. I woke up at 5:30, packed my bag for the gym, looked at my bed, looked at my bag, looked at my bed. Guess who won? I crawled back into bed for another hour of zzz's.

Tomorrow is a new day. And I WILL MAKE IT TO THE GYM! I am determined.

I am testing this schedule for the next two weeks, which happens to coincide with my 14-day trial at the Mansfield. I love Crossfit Montreal... the only issue I have is that it is EXTREMELY INCONVENIENT. Especially when the sidewalks are icy, temperatures are -15 and stupidly windy. That 15 minute walk from the metro is not pleasant. Don't get me wrong. The Crossfit classes at the Mansfield are nothing compared to those at CF Montreal. But bottomline - I need a good workout. And both are extremely effective. Just that one doesn't involve the heavy-lifting that makes me feel like superwoman. But that's ok. My priorities right now are to build endurance, improve my cardio and overall strength. I'm pretty sure I can still accomplish this with this training program.

So for the next two weeks, here's the schedule:

Mon-Wed: Crossfit @ Mansfield
Tues-Thurs: Spinning @ Concordia
Sat: Get Fit for the Cure Fundraiser
Sun: Hot Yoga @ HappyTree

Fridays are still my day off... Yay for Fridays!!!

I will try a few more Crossfit classes at Mansfield. If I feel that it will work well with what I need to accomplish then I will sign up at Mansfield since it offers both Crossfit and spinning and won't require me to go to 3 different places to train! And yes... it may be pricey... but the fact that they have hairdryers, shampoo, conditioner, soap, towels on site is worth the premium in my opinion. Since this is all stuff that I need to trek in my bag and carry on the metro and bus :S

So here's the Crossfit MAC WOD yesterday:

Warmup - 3 rounds of:
- Samson stretch (15 sec)
- 10 pushups
- 10 situps
- 10 back extensions

WOD - 5 rounds of:
- 30 double unders
- 15 jumping lunges (each leg)
- 25 deck squats

Total time: DNF... Finished 4 rounds of the WOD and time ran out after 10 jumping lunges. Sigh.

***************************************************************************
This past weekend, we had part 4 of the "Get Fit for the Cure" fundraiser... Zumba. To be honest... this scared me. I can't dance. At all. I have no rhythm. I'm not even kidding. I just don't get it. I can will my hips all I want to move... but it's not going to happen. I am quite aware that I am stiff as a board. And I'm ok with that. I just avoid dancing. At all costs. Unfortunately, I was not able (OR ALLOWED) to avoid this one. I had to go through an hour of Zumba. I'm not going to lie... I was miserable. Although I'm very happy that I didn't fall flat on my face. All in all... I was just as bad at it as I thought I would be! Hahahaha!

En passant... I wish I had a bike ... lol!

Only 158 days remaining!!!!!

Keep smilin'!
