Grunt like a caveman!

Went to try something called "Caveman Training" yesterday... SO MUCH FUN! It is very similar to Crossfit, where it involves a lot of cross-functional training exercises. Which basically means it is HARDCORE INTENSE! Which also means it was freaking AWESOME! :) Found this workout on Training Mobs... and really wanted to go ... simply because it's called CAVEMAN training! What does that mean!??!?! In my previous post, I put a video of a Caveman Training workout. Good times! I woke up this morning with bruises all over my body!!! Not sure how it happened... but it literally beat me up! Hahahhaa! My friend Richard was a trooper and went all the way to St-Leonard with me to try this! Merci Richard!!!

Here is how the workout went down:
3 circuits:
1) Tractor tire flipping (exactly what it sounds like). You flip a tractor tire towards a partner and they flip it back. Repeat for about 4 minutes.
2) Obliques circuit - 6 exercises of 40 seconds each including some crazy TRX contraptions, monkey bars and sledgehammering a tire :)
3) Modified burpees holding dumb-bells. Hands down, kick back into plank, do a row with each arm while in plank, kick back up into standing and push press the dumb-bells. Repeat for 4 minutes.
The workout was: Parts 1, 2, 3, 2, 1, 2, 3, 2

Ouf!!! It was intense but soooo much fun!!!

Here are some pictures that Frederic took during the session!!!

While holding yourself up suspended by the TRX straps, you need to bring your arms and legs towards each other to form a inverted V.... Yoga definitely helped me here!!!!!

Nothing like pounding the crap out of a tire with a sledgehammer to release frustrations!!!

Nothing like flipping tractor tires to make one feel like Superman... I mean a CAVEWOMAN!

This was ummmm... fun??? Hahahaha!

Hang from monkey bars and swing side to side... oh ya... and hold when your legs swing to the side!

AND... done!!!
Un gros merci à Frederic Guéveneux!!!!! J’ai déjà hâte pour la prochaine classe!!!

This was seriously awesome! I'm sad that it's so far away!!! But I will definitely go back!

Hot Yoga this morning with Gen was exactly what my body needed! Especially all the hip-openers!!! Now I just need work on my super tight hamstrings. And this mysterious swelling and bruising of my right hand :(

I am predicting a day off tomorrow.... it's been a crazy 13 days of training...

BREAK :) Wooohoooo!!!!!!

Giddy up!
